The Smisby Arms

February 05, 2023

Pubs are a staple of British traditions and have a very traditional look. The Smisby Arms, which is located in Smiby near Ashby-De-La-Zouch in Derbyshire, has been serving drinks and food for many years now and has built a reputation for its fantastic food, amazing ales and its superb staff, all of which combines proves to really maintain its status as one of the best places to eat and drink in the area.

The signs they were looking for are traditional pub signs that state the name of the pub as well as show off its unique style of branding. Pub signs have a very easy-to-spot aesthetic and as such they were looking for a signage company in Burton-upon-Trent who were up to the task of creating this sort of result for them.

Smisby arms did their research and decided we were the best option to create their vision and pub it onto a sign for the country to see. We were really pleased that they came to us and we got to work right away designing the sign, the client saw the design and was very happy with the result. We agreed that the colours of the branding needed to stand out and we made sure to include a crest. A crest was once used as a way of identifying towns, cities and villages. This is something the client wanted to keep in order to show off the fact that they are a traditional English pub serving traditional English food in the heart of England.

After we had finished the design process, transferred it onto a double-sided sign and inspected it thoroughly we then went to the location and installed the sign for them on-site. We stood back and admired the sign and couldn't be happier with the end result, the client was also very pleased with the result. We cannot wait to find out what their patrons think about the sign as this sign is for their current client and any potential clients they may have in the future.
